Peer Mediation is a method of involving young people in managing conflict using non-threatening and co-operative methods that promote inclusiveness, respect and self-esteem.
Peer Mediation uses the help of a neutral third party in order to achieve a satisfactory outcome. Usually there are at least 2 mediators who have been trained to guide those in dispute through the process. The mediator does not take sides, he/she does not decide on the solution for those in conflict but through a series of steps, helps them to come to an agreement.
